ADVANCED CONSULTING SKILLS AND FRAMEWORKS
2 credit hours
The aim of the Consulting Skills and Frameworks courses (this one and the prerequisite to it) is to develop three skills that management consultants and general managers use throughout their careers. These are:
- Using fact-based analysis to solve complex business problems in the least amount of time
- Communicating your findings and recommendations so that your audience understands them and wants to act on them
- Creating problem-solving teams that utilize each team member’s strengths and tap into group synergies
This Advanced course builds on the problem-solving and communication skills that were developed in the prerequisite Consulting Skills and Frameworks class. In the Advanced course students learn several more consulting skills and then the course shifts to using them to problem-solving in teams. The work in teams is very comparable to the experience of working on a project for one of the major management consulting firms.
