“Now became the right time.”

I always knew I wanted to pursue an MBA. I really love learning and always have, so it’s been a goal of mine. It was more of a matter of “when?” When would be the right time? And what was the right program? Now became the right time. And MBA@UNC was definitely the right program.

I have 10 years of work experience, so I have experiences and perspectives to contribute to the classroom. I also have a lot to learn about leadership and am hungry to learn and grow as a professional.

To me leadership means pursuing excellence to get great results, serving others and demonstrating integrity. I think it’s important because it moves us to get results while balancing relationships and investing in others.

Excellence is one of my personal core values that I really try to think about and apply every day, specifically comparing my performance to potential rather than comparing my performance to other people or standards. I think the focus on excellence at UNC is something that really aligns with what I was looking for in an MBA program.

UNC also has the centralized feature, in that people all over the world participate in each cohort, which creates a high-quality network that is not limited by geography. This really appealed to me. I think that the platform and immersions will allow me to develop really great networks.

Plus, business is moving more and more to online collaboration. It’s new to me, but I’m really excited to learn and become comfortable with communicating across the distance platform that UNC uses. It is a great asset that I can apply professionally as well.
